Having rested but not feeling particularly well-rested, we discuss strategy for taking on what we believe to be the necrotic dragon. We move closer to the dragon’s room while continuing to strategize, and decide to take out the room with the wraiths first so we have access to all doors. I chug a potion of necrotic resistance and pass another to Tittlin, we all take positions and then quickly dispatch of the wraiths. Tittlin insists on investigating the library briefly before we take on the dragon - yup, lots of books, and a crystal that when touched shows a catalogue of the books. Momen and Tittlin both review the list carefully, not coming up with a whole lot initially.

Tittlin yanks out and flips through several books from the shelves, and suddenly we hear a ghastly wail emanate from all around us. Momen picks up one of the books that Tittlin knocked over and inside it appears to be a spell scroll containing the spell “Tongues”… Momen notes the title of the book that appears to be an anagram of said spell, and reviews the catalogue once again with this in mind, finding “Dispel Magic” and “Prismatic Spray”. Upon touching the book containing “Prismatic Spray”, a demonic wail pierces the air and several ghastly figures materialize through the walls, surrounding us. They descend upon us, and after landing a couple swings on one I suddenly lose control over my body. This must be the possession that Ghurdhe mentioned… I do my best to fight it, remembering Momen’s advice for uh… being connected with myself? Remembering myself? Something about my personality? Anyways, that doesn’t do jack shit, and I find myself a mere passenger as I sink my crystal great sword into him. He thankfully manages to trip me as I begin to charge towards Tittlin, and I feel a touch from behind as I come back to my senses.

Standing up and whirling around in a frenzy, I briefly apologize to Momen and begin cutting into one of the remaining banshees. Attacks from my allies fell the banshee in front of me. More wails pierce through my skull and I feel a sharp pain, and spin around to hack at the final banshee. Ghurdhe’s incense cloud continues to rejuvenate us, and a magical arrow from Tittlin finally takes out the last one.

Ghurdhe uses Greater Restoration on me to reduce my exhaustion, and then we all position ourselves behind the South, West, and East doors. On 3, we all attempt to burst through our respective doors. A weak forcefield slows our entry, and Ghurdhe doesn’t manage to get through the West door at all which is apparently locked. I take a step into the room and turn to my left, greeted by the horrifying Dracolich. It stares down at me and mocks me, and Momen issues a change of plans - destroy the phylactery, or that dracolich isn’t dying. I do a quick 180 and slam the door shut, but am promptly greeted by the ceiling falling on my head. Thankfully, Tittlin finally puts my cool rock to use and casts Reverse Gravity, and I land on my feet (on the ceiling). The dracolich bursts through the door and claws at me, nearly killing me, and I muster all of my strength to sprint into its room and make a break for the artifact vault, taunting it and attempting to lure it away from Tittlin and Momen. Momen has since pass-walled his way to the maximum security vault, and announces that he’s begun attempting to smash the phylactery.

I continue shouting taunts about the Threads of Fate as I break down the door into the west hallway, and Ghurdhe hits me with a heal that feels incredible. Ghurdhe zips past me towards Momen’s tunnel to the maximum security vault, and I follow with what little energy I have. Momen strongly considers blowing up the generator to see if that explosion can destroy the phylactery, and the entire dungeon shakes as I feel what I can only imagine to be the dracolich barreling through walls. Momen screams and chaos ensues in the generator room as he relays that Nyx has been reduced to a pile of bones. I see him come sprinting back through the tunnel with the phylactery, and he consults Ghurdhe momentarily before pivoting South to continue on towards Tittlin.
